About Us |
| Kids Gotta Eat is a full service multimedia conglomerate with a focus of bringing world-class enertainment to the global market. Started first in 1992 by owner/ founder Malik-lateef Rushing as an audio production company, Kids Gotta Eat has since gone on into the television production business, ( Kids Gotta Eat TV ) the recording studio business, ( Funhouse Studios ), and most recently into the launching of Urban America's Next Top Model Competition with super photographer Mr. G of MrGPhotos.com . As a production company in the early 90's Kids Gotta Eat had a hand in shaping the sound of Queensbridge veterans. Starting as an intern at the infamous Power Play Studios while Nas recorded "It Ain't Hard to Tell", to producing tracks for Nature, Tragedy and Havoc of Mobb Deep. Malik says most of his early music influence came from Marley Marl, whom he worked for as a assistant engineer for in Marley Marl's House of Hits. Malik was then able to parlay that experince into a joint venture with La da Star of Mobb Deep which enabled him to showcase his talents throughout Queensbridge's underground scene which made him a sought after comodity. After a short stint working for L.E.S of Trackmasters fame, Malik decided to expand his horizon from audio to video production. Kids Gotta Eat TV, is a cutting edge weekly urban entertainment news program based out of New York. But remarkably, it didn't start that way. With no camera, microphone or a lighting kit, the idea of starting a television show seemed bleak. But that didn't stop Malik. With tape recorder in hand, Kids Gotta Eat the web magazine was born. He hasn't looked back since. As a result, Kids Gotta Eat Tv arrived, securing interviews, red carpet events, exclusive behind the scenes footage and performances from today's hottest artist. Kids Gotta Eat Tv has earned a reputation for our consistent, competent reporting of the urban entertaiment scene, as we have continued to evolve, delivering comprehensive, provacative and entertaining news in a sophisticated yet fun to watch style. But the work doesn't stop there. Funhouse Studios, a partnership entered into in April 2002, continued the success of Kids Gotta Eat. Recording albums and tracks by various artist including Joe Buddens, Rev. Run, La La of MTV, Black Rob, Prodigy of Mobb Deep and Bathgate of Bad Boy fame. Unfourtanetly, the studio suffered a fire which has temporarily shut it down, but it is slated to re-open mid 2007. Though untimely, the fire at the studio has given Kids Gotta Eat the time to seek other ventures in the entertainment business including the launching of Urban America's Next Top Model Competition with super photographer Mr. G Urban America's Next Top Model Competition aims to provide a platform for aspiring models to compete and become recognized primarily through private sector support and worthy sponsorships. Ideally the the entrants can get a foothold in the often very competitive fashion world, where it is extremely difficult and near impossible to establish a career in modeling. Our With 2007 upon us and with growing interest in graphic design and print, silk screen t-shirt production, travel agents to the stars and a mortgage consultant team unlike any other, the future looks bright Kids Gotta Eat.
